As part of the Third Hanover International Tango and Music Festival, Wolfram Fleischhauer will be reading from his popular novel Fatal Tango (Drei Minuten mit der Wirklichkeit), the cult book of the tango scene.

What starts as a dream-like love story soon develops into a nightmare.

The nineteen year-old Giulietta Battin, a ballet dancer at the Berlin Opera House, wants to find out what it is about contemporary tango that makes it so unsettling. This leads her to Damian Alsina, the enigmatic yet brilliant star dancer of a tango ensemble staying in Berlin. Without any obvious reason, Damian sabotages his own piece on stage and ruins the show. Days later he carries out an absurd attack on Giulietta's family and disappears to Argentina. Deeply hurt, but determined to find an explanation, Giulietta follows him to Buenos Aires. But it is as if Damian has disappeared into thin air. Giulietta begins a journey through the visible and hidden world of tango in Buenos Aires, in which Damian's enigmatic dancing style proves to be a hidden Ariadne's thread through a devilish labyrinth. The closer she comes to an answer, the more terrible it seems to be. And then all of a sudden someone else takes an interest in her search for clues - and they have quite different plans...
