Leandro Riva
A solo concert with a special form of guitar awaits you courtesy of Leandro Riva, an Argentinean based in Hanover: Tango meets Classics.
"Leandro Riva has a musicality which transcends the technical challenges of guitar playing. His interpretation of "Otoño porteño" by Astor Piazolla has subtlety and a rhythmic quality which clearly reflects the character of the "new tango". The sound envelops you in three dimensions with a colour that confirms H. Berlioz's claim that the guitar is like an orchestra unto itself. It is exactly this feeling which pours from the hands of the young musician, who binds his unfaltering musicality with the essence of the piece from the very first note.
“Whoever has the chance to hear Leandro Riva will find a musician with passionate originality who transcends the limits of his instrument."
This quote from Alejandro Lemos, guitarist, composer and artistic manager of the Uppsala International Guitar Festival 2004-2007 says it all.
