Dear friends and fans of Argentinean tango and its culture!

Welcome to the third TANGO IMPULS!

As usual, an exciting, extensive and above all vibrant programme awaits you.

We will once again have a broad range, from classical tango to the latest developments from music, dance, literature, film and fine art.

This year, TANGO IMPULS will once again honour an outstanding artist: Chango Spasiuk! Our special artist is this year drawn from the sphere of modern Argentinean folk and world music, which appear in the programme for the very first time and which form a strong cultural influence in tango and the Rio de la Plata region. In recognition of his regeneration of Argentinean folk, Chango Spasiuk has been compared to Astor Piazzolla in terms of influence. For this reason we look forward to presenting him with the first TANGO IMPULS award at the opening concert on April 14th in the Markuskirche! 

From 2011 there will also be another, or rather two other, prizes: The master class participants will make a public appearance on stage and attempt to win the open TANGO IMPULS prize! That will be exciting!
